It is Friday, and I have to go to the hospital for pre op tests today. I will be having a hysterectomy on Mon, June 25. I work at the hospital, and I know most of the people who will be taking care of me on a personal level. I am friends with my anesthesiologist, and my surgeon is awesome! My nurses are friends of mine that I have worked with for years. Most of all, I know that the Lord is with me, and will be guiding my surgeons' hands. The outcome is good!
My surgeon will be using a new technique with me. She will be doing a laproscope to see the area, and flexible scopes to perform the procedure. Her hands will be on handles, and there are tiny robots at the ends of the scopes that will do the actual cutting and cauterizing. It is still fairly new, but I am in great hands. (ALL of them!) By doing it this way, the recovery time is shortened, and there are fewer incisions. Hopefully, less chance of infection.
I am looking forward to getting this done, as I have had multiple problems for years (endometriosis, cysts, fibroids--now) I had been told I would never have children because of the issues I had. I was told that I would have a hyst by the time I was 30. My daughter was born when I was 29, and I thank God for her! My little blessing and reminder that when man says something cannot be done, God shows him Who is really in charge!
I will try to keep up with everyone, even if I don't write much for a while!
I love you all, God Bless!
Love, Faith

Faith,
I saw your post at, child of the King's Blog, and decided to hop over to your Blog to say, hello!
I know you will do fine on Monday, but I'm agreeing in prayer with you, for a 'most' speedy recovery, along with you :) And be sure to let us know how you are doing, (a short couple of lines) when you are up to it, okay?
And take care of those hummingbords, too, LOL. The one named, Marge, may need a little 'therapy' today, hee, hee!
My Nutrition Manager and I work today, and she is a difficult personality to be around, work with, or for that matter? Read her comments in the Tour book :( Yesterday I went into work, after being off, (scheduling) almost a week, just to read about four rather caustic comments. So, (you'll laugh about this one!) I left HER a little comment, about after reading her notes, I might need some sort of Therapy......and added a little smiling face. :) We'll see what she has to say about that one, today, LOL. I really like my job, and everything else, but my Manager has been a very real challenge for me, right from the start. She's a 'control freak, with an attitude,' IMHO, LOL.
Well, way too much about me, but thanks for allowing me to vent :) I figured that after your tests today, you might need a little chuckle.
I love you, and God bless you! Remember Jesus is not only our Savior and Lord, but He's our Healer, too.
P.S. Give Marge the Hummingbird a big 'hello,' from me, too :)
Thanks Marge!
The laugh came at just the right time! I have to have a completely empty bowel, and the prep kit just doesn't sound like fun. There is a reason I went into resiratory medicine and not nursing...I don't do butts. (No offense to any of my RN friends out there...just a LOT of respect from me!)
As for that sad personality of the Manager...Gramma always said to "Kill them with kindness." It makes you feel good inside too. (Didn't Paul mention something like if you do good to those around you who try to hurt you, it is like heaping coals on their head?) We know that there are some who just need a big tickle because their face forgot what it is like to laugh! Too bad for her. (Good for us!)
Thanks again for the lift! I love you and I will try to post as soon as I can!
God Bless you!
Love Faith
Faith,
I agree with you, about those meds., and such, to clean the colon. Not much fun, are they?
I'd forgotten that you were a Respitory Nurse. In fact, I have an appt. this coming Wednesday to go in for a breathing test. My Doctor hasn't been happy, as my Peak Flow tests are about at 270, and she said, they're suppose to be about 327, for a woman my age. So, I'm going into the Downtown Facility to breath into a machine of some sort, and they'll be able to track everything. I also was sent in for a chest X-Ray, and that looked okay. Anyhow, just a little update on me, I suppose, LOL.
Let us all know how your surgery goes, as we're praying for your operation to be a complete success, followed by a speedy recovery, too!
Oh, my Boss backed down, and became a little nicer, after my note, about needing some therapy, after reading her notes, etc. Good news there! It's been a real challenge for me, to be the witness I need to be for the Lord, and still remain 'calm' while being in some pretty 'rough waters.' I've had some 'tough' Managers' before in my life, but this one, 'takes the cake......and eats it, too :)'
I love you, and I'm looking forward to hearing from you, when you're stronger, after your surgery! God bless you, and keep you strong, in spirit, soul and body, is my prayer for you today :)
Hey Faithy girl,
I just wanted to leave you a note and let you know that you've been on my mind and close to my heart this week. I hope all went well Monday and you are just taking it easy. Laparoscopy, eh? Well if it is like the rest of those surgeries it should be a breeze,,,but sometimes we get a 'hiccup' along the way!
Hope your family has gotten the chance to 'baby' you this week for a change. You deserve it! The job is going well, although it is really apparent I've been out of the field for 9 years. I guess it is just going to take some time to learn everything and get into the 'swing' of it.
Well, we all miss you and hope that you let us know how you are doing. We will keep you in prayer until you give us the word other wise.
Much love to you and your family, Faith.
